چکیده

We have developed a novel data acquisition system for measuring tracking parameters of a silicon detector in a particle beam. The system is based on a commercial Analog-to-Digital VME module and a PC Linux based Data Acquisition System. This DAQ is realized with C++ code using object-oriented techniques. Track parameters for the beam particles were reconstructed using off-line analysis code and automatic detector position alignment algorithm. The new DAQ was used to test novel Czochralski type silicon detectors. The important silicon detector parameters, including signal size distributions and signal to noise distributions, were successfully extracted from the detector under study. The efficiency of the detector was measured to be 95 %, the resolution about 10 μm, and the signal to noise ratio about 10.

First test of a prototype CBM silicon detector system in a proton beam at GSI

In September 2008, the CBM collaboration performed the first essential test of two prototype detector systems in a 2.5 GeV proton beam at GSI. The experiment at the HTD beam line in Cave C comprised prototype micro-strip detectors of the Silicon Tracking System, and gas-electronmultiplier (GEM) detectors. The detectors were coupled to a self-triggering front-end electronics and data acquisition...

Silicon Detectors for the Large Prototype TPC test setup at DESY

The Linear Collider TPC collaboration constructed a Large Prototype TPC (LPTPC) which is now installed at the EUDET facility, in DESY. The SiLC-collaboration (Silicon for the Linear Collider) will install position sensitive silicon strip sensors outside the field cage of the LPTPC, to provide precise tracking information. The data acquisition system (DAQ) is an adapted CMS readout system. The s...

Readout System for PANDA Silicon Strip Prototyp Studies

The PANDA Experiment at FAIR will include a MicroVertex-Detector (MVD) for tracking and vertexing. The MVD will be composed of silicon pixel detectors and double-sided silicon strip detectors. The strip part will contain approximately 200,000 channels that need to be read out with highly integrated front-ends. A specific feature of the PANDA detector is the data acquisition concept [1]. Contrar...

Test of prototype modules of the CBM Silicon Tracking System in a proton beam at COSY

The prototype Silicon Tracking System comprised two stations based on double-sided silicon microstrip, ultrathin readout cables, and self-triggering readout electronics (Fig. 2-left). The detectors SPID-CBM02 originate from a cooperation with CiS, Erfurt, and have 256 orthogonal strips per side with 50 μm strip pitch. The detectors were assembled into boards at SE SRTIIE, Kharkov, Ukraine. The ...
